Prof Mariecia Fraser has a background in animal science and grazing ecology. Her research interests include diet selection and grazing behaviour, nutrient supply and nutrient use efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions from ruminant livestock, and conservation grazing. She has worked with a range of livestock species (sheep, cattle goats, alpacas, guanacos, red deer, ponies) and grassland types (cultivated, improved permanent pasture and semi-natural grass and heath communities), as well as fresh and ensiled alternative forages, to deliver a range of products (meat, fibre and ecosystem services).
