Rachel James

Rachel is head of Cardiology at a private specialist led Cardiology referral practice (James Specialist Veterinary Cardiology - JSVC) in Cheshire, North Wales and the midlands.   Rachel has been an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology since 2009; she was previously an Associate Professor at Nottingham University until founding JSVC in 2016.  Rachel regularly lectures locally, nationally and internationally and is actively involved in multiple international research projects.  Rachel's biggest passion is treatment of heart failure in both cats and dogs and has multiple active ongoing research projects.  Rachel has previously been the supplements editor for the Journal of Small Animal practice, been a member of the organising committee for BSAVA congress, a member of the National health testing Committee for the KC Doppler heart testing scheme and secretary for the European society of Veterinary Cardiology.  Outside of work Rachel spends all her time with her large family and animals.
